Shitmons Viability Rankings
Welcome to the Shitmons Viability Ranking thread, here we will rank the Pokémon into tiers appropriate for the efficiency and viability of the Pokémon in the tier. If you feel a Pokémon should rise or drop make sure you post with valid reasoning behind your nomination. We also have a ranking council, which decides on which nominations go through or not. Currently, it consists of:

B- to B+ replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ubers-664860037Sableye definitely doesn't deserve this rank. Sableye's moveset just harrasses multiple mons. Although Torkoal is a huge pain in the ass for it once that is removed it has a ton of free reign. In the replay above if it weren't for the unfortunate hax Sableye would have been able to finish off the match easily. Knock Off is also very annoying to switch into in general since a lot of mons that would switch into Sableye lack reliable recovery outside of Leftovers so it even plays a big role in that to. Finally it is able to spin block and stop Klefki Defogs on hazard based teams. It's ability to simply annoy opposing teams makes me feel like it deserves a rise.

Third try making this post: Carnivine: C > C+Carnivine gets Defog now, which gives it a more appealing niche than a very bad SD + Natural gift set. With Defog, Carnivine can function as a more offensive version of Tropius, at the cost of some bulk. It still carries some of the pros of Tropius such as reliable recovery and the ability to sorta check Zydog, while adding an electric resist and Knock Off, making it better suited for some teams than Tropius. Maybe it deserves a rise? Absol: B+ > BAbsol is really out of place in B+. Swords Dance sets hit extremely hard, yes, but base 70 speed is really underwhelming in this meta, and with every team carrying at least one scarfer or just Pokémon faster than it such as Sigilyph, Rotom-N, or even Zangoose it spends most of its time trying to win Sucker Punch 50/50s, which makes it really easy to play around regardless of how threatening it is once it sets up. That's not even mentioning how hard it is to bring in, with paper-thin bulk and Dark type being an awful type in this meta for resistances (Sableye and Spiritomb mostly rely on their ghost type and taking neutral hits) means that it can often only come in once and has to hope that it doesn't die before it makes a mark. It's not consistent enough for B+. Throh: B- > C+To give Throh some credit, a fighting type phaser is unique and both fighting types and phasers are important, but Throh fails to offer any reason to be used over Sawk or Passimian plus a phaser. Not having Close Combat really hurts it, as it's forced to rely on Circle Throw or Superpower as STAB moves, and it can't even phase Mimikkyu, severely hurting its TR matchup. It's just outclassed and not worth using unless you need a very specific mon, which sounds more like a C rank thing to me.

B --> B+replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ubers-664840915replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ubers-662504041Minior is arguably one of the scariest late-game sweepers in the Shitmons metagame, in my opinion. With it's standard moveset of Substitute/Shell Smash/Acrobatics/Earthquake with a White Herb, Minior can easily set up on common Pokémon such as defensive Torkoal (you can add a bit of SpD to Minior to ensure that it's Sub lives Lava Plume in the Sun, which is really neat), and once it's broken out of it's Shield form, it's almost unstoppable at +2, reaching insane Speed stats over any common Scarfer even with an Adamant nature, and having really good coverage in Flying/Ground that is very, very strong at +2 and is only stopped by a few mons. Another neat thing about Minior is that it's Shield form is immune to status, meaning you can switch it into predicted status moves like TWave from Qwilfish or Will-O-Wisp from Sableye and get out scot-free, often nabbing yourself a Shell Smash boost too. It also allows Minior to set up in the face of Prankster TWave Klefki, who would otherwise annoy it to no end. Minior is also pretty much protected from priority as well, as the most common form of priority is Extreme Speed from Zydog, which it resists, and random Sucker Punches from stuff like Heatmor, which isn't that common anyways. Of course, Minior shouldn't go any higher than B+ in my opinion as even with all of it's amazing pros, it does come with some pretty big cons, such as usually only having one chance to set up and sweep, and still being somewhat frail even in the Shield form, so it cant take most strong neutral hits well at all. However, Minior's amazing and highly dangerous cleaning abilities late-game with Shell Smash, as well as having ample times to set up, do make it very worthy of a rise to B+. I also agree with Zelfie's nomination of Sableye rising up, however I'd actually only rise it to about B as of right now, as while it does check quite a few mons and can win matchups pretty easily with it's annoying stallbreaking abilities, it also pretty much dies to Torkoal, which is really big as letting in Specs Torkoal is no good in this meta.

Update time!Rises:B- > BB > B+Drops:B+ > BB- > C+A- > B+C- > DReasoning: - Sableye is a great normal deterrent and physical check. While it can't beat everything, prankster wisp is amazing and it can pester and cripple teams. It did not rise, and will not be rising to B+ because of how easily it lets in a lot of special attackers, especially Torkoal, basically for free, which can really hurt your team in the long run. - I'm a bit iffy on a Minior rise, but Cheryl convinced me to do it so we're doing it. It's a Scary late-game sweeper with few real checks, and it can easily clean up weakened teams. It also can usually set up on defensive Torkoal, which is a nice perk. - I know Absol just dropped but B+ is still too high for it. It's too hard to get in and too inconsistent as long as your opponent keeps anything faster than it alive. - Throh has a niche, but that niche is too specific for it to be widespread, and it can't phase Mimikkyu at all, which makes its matchup against TR teams worse compared to the other phasers. It's also really weak without bulk up and loses to any ghost type with it, which makes it even less consistent. - Zangoose wasn't really dropped due to meta trends, but more because we raised it too high initially, and it's not as effective as the other mons in A-. - Seviper was the big one. Dropping something to D is a big deal, but Seviper probably deserved it. It's just... bad. It's a good mixed attacker in theory, but 100/100 offences with pitiful speed and defences does nothing for it, and there's so many better Pokémon that you can add to your team than Seviper. I guess infiltrator is nice but there's so few sub users in shitmons that it barely matters. It has no niche and isn't even good at whatever it tries to do, and you should really never use it on a team.

More noms: Volbeat: C- to C With Volbeat now getting Defog, it has a sizeable niche in prankster defog, which it shares with Illumise, but Volbeat is slightly better at it due to a stronger U-Turn, if you choose to run that. Here's the set I've been running: Ray (Volbeat) @ Rocky Helmet Ability: Prankster EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe Impish Nature - Defog - Roost - Tailwind / Toxic - U-turn / Toxic Toxic is about as good a U-turn but Then you're complete Sableye bait so it's probably better to run U-turn. Prankster guarauntees at least one free defog per game, and its adequate physical bulk makes it a surprisingly good check for a lot of dangerous Pokémon, such as Passimian, Sawk if it's locked into something besides Stone Edge, and even Zydog and Mimikkyu (adding to the extensive list of stuff that checks them). Tailwind is also really nice, as once it's done its job it can support its team even further, which is really good when paired with one of our many slow wallbreakers that get a kill nearly every time they come in. Overall, Volbeat is a cute support mon and is definitely better than D, and probably better than C- but one step at a time. Carbink: B- to BCarbink's gotten a big swing upwards in usage thanks to Trick Room being broken very good right now, and with Sturdy Carbink's garaunteed to get both TR and Rocks up if you go for TR first, or give something really dangerous a free turn with the ability to Explode. Being an essential part of a very good playstyle is good enough, but Carbink's also finding more and more uses outside of Trick Room as the best Drampa check in the tier, and a solid Stealth Rocker, albiet one really easily worn down without support. However, the sheer number of things it checks outside of Drampa is workable, and it can switch in on Defensive torkoal (unless it's carrying solar beam), which is a huge plus. Smeargle: B- to C+ (or lower)On paper, webs looks really good in this tier. Shitmons has a ton of very slow, strong, wallbreakers that look like they'd appreciate webs. But, webs really sucks and it's because Smeargle is just really bad at doing anything. Its bulk is so bad that it needs focus sash to do anything, which is a huge detriment just in general and makes it really easy to play around. It's also really predictable and can only get webs up once per game because its bulk is just that bad. Lastly, most of the slow, extremely strong wallbreakers in shitmons would benefit more from TR than webs due to how slow they are, meaning webs is often left with subpar options. It could honestly be worse than C+ but it's definitely not B-. Plusle: A- > Bi really don't want to make the nom but Plusle's just really bad right now. It suffers from a lot of the same problems as Mimikkyu, where if the stars align it'll sweep your team but that's really rare at the minute. Its bulk is so bad that it always needs to be behind a sub, it's strong enough to do work but it loses to a lot of things and it can't do anything about it, even if it's behind a sub it's never breaking SpD Drudd, SpD Bouff gives it issues, AV Turt checks it, Zydog forces it out if it's not behind a sub, and it loses to every scarfer. It's also not terribly fast and pathetically bulky, which gives it a lot less setup opportunities than something like Pom Pom, while also being much more predictable than any other setup sweeper. Sadly just really hard to justify using in this meta.

Chatot from B to B-/C+
Chatot sucks. It seems like it has a lot of potential due to having an insanely strong move in Boomburst, as well as decent enough coverage, an okay Speed stat, and access to Nasty Plot if you want to set up and sweep. However, not only does Chatot face a TON of competition from other Pokémon as a frail and strong special attacker, it also doesn't get work done as well as you'd think in practice. While it is definitely possible to facilitate a Boomburst sweep, it is actually sorta hard to spam Boomburst considering Ghost-types like Rotom, Oricorio-Sensu, and Sableye are all really common and you're lucky to not find at least one of them in most teams. Chatot's base 91 Speed isn't bad at all, but it gets outsped by the Oricorios, has to risk a tie with Rotom, etc. While this can be mitigated with Choice Scarf, Chatot loses a lot of it's power with a Scarf and as said before, Boomburst is hard to spam atm. Nasty Plot sets with Z-Boomburst seem like good wallbreakers at first, but Chatot's shitty bulk disallows it to set up at all on most things, and it hardly sweeps due to Chatot's only okay Speed stat. Specs is probably the best set, giving Chatot a decent niche over other Normals because Specs Boomburst is very strong, but it's so frail and hard to spam it just never gets the job done in my experience. I'd rather use the Oricorios, who at least have a better spammable STAB move in Hurricane (and Revelation Dance to a lesser extent) while also having way better typings to set up with, and being better Scarf users due to their utility. While Chatot does have a niche in Boomburst and being an okay cleaner with Scarf/okay wallbreaker with Specs, the amount of competition it faces and the struggles you have to go to use it effectively does not justify it's B ranking, and therefore it should drop. Togedemaru from B- to B
With the advent of Iron Head Togedemaru, Togedemaru has been given new life with it's Choice Scarf set. Scarf Togedemaru is a pretty decent revenge killer and potential cleaner late-game, being able to revenge kill threats like Sigilyph, the Oricorios, and Comfey with it's STABs. It's also just a really good pivot with U-turn, letting it get out of tough situations like when a Torkoal switches in. Being able to outspeed Maractus in Sun is also a nice plus for Togedemaru as a Scarfer. While I haven't used the Lefties fast pivot set since Toge got buffed, it probably still does it's role as an Electric and Fairy answer for bulkier teams well, even better with Iron Head added too! While Togedemaru does have a few flaws, such as being pretty weak compared to other Scarfers, it makes up for it with it's good defensive typing and FLINCHES just being a really nice utility revenge killer with the proper support. Togedemaru isn't amazing but Iron Head gives it a new niche and buffs it's old one, and I think that's enough to rise it up a subrank.

Update time! Rises:A > A+A- > AB- > BB- > BC- > CDrops:A- > BB > B-B- > C+Reasoning: - Comfey Rose because Vinfey (Substitute + Leech Seed + Protect) is an incredibly strong set with limited counterplay bar running a few specific Pokémon such as Qwilfish or Skarmory, in addition to its other sets such as Calm Mind and Defog still being good in the current metagame. - Drampa rose in part to its Choice Specs set being able to OHKO or 2HKO most of the tier to the point where Immunities, not Resists, are required to adequately be prepared for it. It also has a solid SpD Defog set that also retains a lot of power, and is still capable of taking advantage of any non-Superpower Torkoal variant. - Carbink is one of the best answers to Choice Specs Drampa in the metagame, as well as a solid Specially Defensive check to the tier and being the best Trick Room lead, with Trick Room still being extremely good. - Togedemaru got Iron Head, so a Choice Scarf set is now its main option. It's the fastest viable scarfer in the tier, packs good STABs + U-Turn for scouting, and can hax its way through some of its checks with enough luck since Both Iron Head and Zing Zap Flinch. - Volbeat rose to now having access to priority Defog, which coupled with its adequate physical bulk and priority Roost and Tailwind, make for a niche but usable Defog set. - Plusle is sadly really bad and I'm not even sure if it's B level right now. It just struggles to break teams due to many teams carrying a scarfer that can RK it, or something that can sponge a +2 Gigavolt. Its horrendous bulk is also really starting to show, and CM Oricorio Pom Pom is usually a better choice. - Chatot dropped since it's pretty outclassed by other Normals or the Oricorios, which are faster and have a less prepared for STAB. - Smeargle dropped because webs suck and Smeargle has no niche outside of webs. Despite being discussed, neither Qwilfish nor Phione rose.

/Necrobump Update Time!Rises:A+ > SA > A+A > A+ B > B+C > C+C > C+Drops:A+ > AA > A-B+ > BB > B-B- > C+C+ > CReasoning: - Vinfey is the single most broken thing in the tier right now, which is the main reason Comfey rose. Vinfey can easily beat teams all on its own with toxic spikes up, and can severely weaken most threats even without, necessitating a very small group of Pokémon to even have a hope of beating it (and those aren't even foolproof). On top of that, Comfey is also one of the most reliable Defoggers in the tier and has a capable Calm Mind set, ensuring it'll never be dead weight. It's the second most versatile Pokémon in the tier behind God himself, and while its other sets aren't quite S-worthy, Vinfey pushes it over the top. - Drampa is the tier's premier Torkoal switch-in, which alone is probably worthy of A+. Its Choice Specs set warps the tier around itself, forcing a viable fairy type onto nearly every team (And usually a ghost/sturdy normal resist too). SpD Defog is also gaining traction as the best Specs Torkoal switch-in in the tier. - Qwilfish rose due to Toxic Spikes being incredibly strong at the moment, with most teams using Torkoal as their primary means of hazard control. It can also attempt to stop Vinfey, which is more than a lot of Pokémon in the tier can say. - Carbink is an amazing blanket check to some of the tier's most dominant threats, such as Drampa, Relicanth and Specs Torkoal's eruption. Its massive bulk also makes it a very consistent Stealth Rock setter long-term. Additionally, it's the go-to lead for Trick Room teams, with access to both Stealth Rock and Trick Room, plus Sturdy to garauntee both. - Volbeat and Illumise were both deemed to be better than anything else in C and more in line with the Pokémon in C+. Illumise's Choice Specs set is surprisingly powerful and it has enough coverage to get the job done, while Volbeat's bulk and access to Prankster Defog is just enough to make it a passable Defogger. - A set-up Maractus in the sun is the most threatening Pokémon in the tier easily. However, most teams are more prepared to stop it before it can get set up now, hence the slight drop. - Relicanth has seen less use recently in light of the rise of Choice Speces Torkoal and Drampa, who have become the preferred Pokémon for the "Slow extremely strong breaker" role due to their higher power and better defensive utility respectively. - Oricorio-Baile is very difficult to fit on teams in this meta, due to its quad weakness to Stealth Rocks and sharing checks with Torkoal. It also competes with both Torkoal and its other forms for a spot, and while it is the fastest fire type, it's more on the level of the Pokémon in B now. - Solrock suffered a slight drop due to it not being quite on par with the other threats in B, and while it is a fairly good answer to Fat God, that wasn't quite enough to keep it there. - Tropius has sadly now dropped two full ranks, with the advent of better Zydog checks. It isn't bulky enough to stop what it needs to, especially considering its weakness to Stealth Rock, and it invites any God set in basically for free. Any hope for Tropius now probably lies in Solar Power sets, but I doubt it will either drop or rise any time in the future. - There is no reason to use Throh over Sawk or Passimian, ever. It does have a unique niche, which is probably why it won't go lower, but a phaser that can't beat Vinfey has no use whatsoever.

Update Time! This update reflects a meta with Comfey in it, so it may not be very accurate with Comfey banned. Rises: S > BannedA > A+B > B+B > B+B- > BC+ > B- D > C-Drops:A- > B+B > B-C- > DReasoning:- Rip Comfey - Bouffolant rose due to its Assault Vest set re-emerging, allowing it to take on threats such as the now dearly departed Comfey, Maractus, and even Drampa as an emergency-button check. Its coverage is just enough to get the job done in most situations, leading to it always seeming to pull its weight now more than ever. It does face some competition as the somewhat slow normal type with Drampa, but it's just as worthy of that slot as Drampa right now. - Klefki has seen some more usage with its Recycle + Occa Berry set, letting it function as a Drampa check in a tier that desperately needs them. A combination of Prankster Spikes and a choice of Toxic or Thunder Wave is icing on the cake and makes it one of the best, if not the best, hazard setters for HO teams right now. - Togedemaru's Choice Scarf set has become one of the preferred scarfers in the tier, being almost on par with the two fighting types currently due to its higher speed tier than either of them. It does have some notable issues with Fat God variants, but it is capable of bullshitting past its checks due to both its STABs packing a 30% Flinch rate. - Make no mistake, Mimikkyu is still really bad at what it does. However, being immune to both of Drampa's STABs means that regardless of how many flaws it has, it finds itself onto a lot of teams as an emergency-button check to Drampa. - Volbeat's Defog set and surprisingly adequate physical bulk give it enough to be about on par with B-, Prankster Defog garauntees the hazards are going if it gets a turn, and a combination of U-Turn and prankser Tailwind means that Volbeat is very good at conserving momentum on a team. - Dedenne has seen some usage through, surprisingly, a Choice Band set, as an emergency soft check or revenge killer to Drampa. It also has one of the best speed tiers in the tier, only being outsped by Zydog, scarfers, and Maractus under sun. This lets it be a revenge killer effective enough for C- at least. - Heatmor finds itself relatively outclassed by offensive God variants, outside of being faster. It's still good, but it's harder to justify on a team than it used to be. - Komala is severely outclassed by Defog Drampa variants as a normal typed remover due to Drampa's higher power and Cloud Nine, which lets Drampa take on most God variants while doing its job. I wouldn't be opposed to dropping it further. - And lastly, Pyukumuku has a niche technically, but that niche is so bad right now due to shitmons favouring wallbreakers over boosting sweepers, and the main boosting sweeper in the tier, Maractus, shits on it anyways. There's no reason at all to put Pyukumuku on a team whatsoever, and its ranking has been changed to reflect that.

A Wild Update Appeared!Rises:A+ > SA > A+A > A+A > A+B+ > A-Drops:A+ > AA+ > AA+ > AA > A-A- > B+B+ > BB > B-B > C+B- > C+C > C-Reasoning: - Drampa is probably the best mon in the tier right now. Its sheer wallbreaking power bypasses resists and forces a fairy onto basically every team, and Cloud Nine also makes it the best Torkoal check in existence to anything but Smash Superpower variants. It's also the best hazard remover in the tier without giving up much power (OHKOing 90% of the meta isn't that much difference from 2HKOing 100% of the meta and OHKOing about half of it). The amount of stress it puts on teambuilding and in battle is unreal, it kind of pushes the envelope on what's allowed in the tier, but for now it seems fine, but definitively S rank. - The meta at this point is ruled by Dragons, there's no doubt about that. Zydog has regained its wallbreaking "prowess" due to the meta favouring it very heavily right now. Comfey's ban means it lost its biggest check, it can come in and prey on Drampa and most Gods, and Thousand Arrows is just an insane spammable move. Its speed tier also puts it above everything in the tier, forcing scarfers to be used to revenge it, and our pool of scarfers isn't that good right now. - Druddigon is one of the best Rockers right now, and pairs really well with the other Dragons in the tier while also checking God and most other special attackers in the tier very well. This isn't anything new, but with the rise of its best partners it also deserves one. - Mola rose due to Zydog's rise, as it's the most reliable Zydog answer (and one of not very many), and is just generally a bitch with Regen + wish making whole teams healthy and still keeping momentum up while stonewalling most of the meta. SpD Mirror Coat is even a possibility for Sigilyph and Drampa, although you do lose out on checking ZyDog like this. - Klefki's Occa Berry + Recycle set has risen as a very strong Drampa check in the current meta, something the tier desperately lacks. This alone is enough to push it into the A Ranks, but its ability to Spread Status and Spikes, as well as Occa Berry letting it sort of come in on Fat Gods all really help it out. - Bouffolant dropped due to Drampa being the fat normal of choice (while still checking Maractus) and Maractus not being as good now. SD sets are in theory still good but it's hard to really justify it over a fast normal or Drampa right now. - Qwilfish and Rotom both suffer from the influx of Zydog, basically giving it free turns unless they can get a burn off. They're both hurt pretty badly by Drampa too, especially Defog variants which have Roost to outlast Qwiflish anyways. - Maractus doesn't like the Dragon-heavy meta too much. Bloom Doom is basically dead and Drampa can switch in and turn off the sun, ruining its boosting or locking it into SolarBeam and letting Drampa pick up a free kill or remove hazards. It's got too high an opportunity cost attached to it right now to stay A, but it's deadly enough to not be in the B Ranks. - Relicanth competes for the "OHKO almost everything" slot with Drampa and God, and considering the other two are S Rank, well... it's not doing so well. Head Smash's hit-or-miss accuracy and low PP really hurt it, and it can't really perform any role other than CB to help your team in any way, giving it a lack of flexibility that just makes it fall behind more. - This meta is probably the least kind it's ever been to God, which extends to all the other fire types. They're all more or less averaged out around B now - decent enough, but they don't like the Dragon-heavy meta and also compete with God for a slot, since Firespam isn't good right now. Bonus points to Turtonator for also competing with the other Dragons as well as God and failing at both. - Plusle is really, truly, and utterly bad. While you could argue that the other B mons have niches on specific team compositions, there's barely any reason to ever use Plusle right now. - Komala shares a niche with Drampa as a specially bulky normal remover. This isn't working out very well for it, and in almost any situation where you'd want Komala Drampa does it better. - Delibird is truly awful, and is only being kept out of the D Ranks due to it getting Aurora Veil and Spikes, which is something, I guess. AVeil is kind of awful due to God though, but it's the fastest spiker which has to count for something.

Update time!
Rises: A+ > SA > A+B+ > A-C > C+Drops:S > A+A > A-A > A-A- > B+A- > B+B+ > BB > B-C+ > C-Reasoning:Note that this reflects a meta with Drampa still in it. - AloDram is the new Regimola. Jokes aside, Mola benefits massively from Drampa being broken and taking over the tier, as the Electric, Grass, and Solar-Beaming members of the tier have all slowly vanished, making it even more difficult to pressure than before without letting Drampa come in for free. - Durant is the best setup sweeper in the tier, which isn't really anything new since Maractus started falling off, but due to the fast special scarfers that were commonly used to revenge it vanishing with Drampa's influence, it has even more free reign over other teams than usual. - Carbink's ability to be the best switchin in the tier to non-Surf drampas is a trait worthy of at least B+. It's also the best Stealth rock setter in the tier behind God right now, which nets it a great spot in the meta. The only reason it can't rise further is due to inviting Durant in for free and its general passivity. - Carnivine is possibly the best switchin to Thousand Arrows in the tier, which, combined with Defog, nets it a niche on some teams. It switched places with tropius effectively due to Carnivine being better at the one role they're both used for. - For the first time ever, God falls out of S rank due to Drampa being pretty broken and more or less invalidating Fat and Specs sets on any team it's on. It still performs amazingly on any team not facing down a Drampa, but Drampa's sheer influence is enough to bump it down a peg. - Bouffolant is mostly outclassed as a fat normal wallbreaker by Drampa, and AV sets are cool but way too weak to be really reliable. - This meta is terrible for Maractus due to Drampa turning off sun the second it comes in as well as God, its partner in crime, losing a fair amount of relevance itself. - Relicanth still isn't Drampa or even Specs God. Head Smash's low PP and Accuracy don't help it, and it doesn't have much of a niche over the other two other than being physical. - Basculin is unironically outclassed by Surf Drampa as a special water user. That should tell you how good it is in the tier. - Tropius, as mentioned above, is directly outclassed by Carnivine in their main niche and is only being kept out of D by the possibility of abusing Sun, but even that seems unlikely. On another note, the B ranks are kind of a clusterfuck and we'll probably get around to overhauling them soonish. Maybe. Hopefully.

MASSIVE VR OVERHAUL!
Rises: S to Banned A+ to S A+ to S A- to A A- to A B+ to A B+ to A- B+ to A- C to A- B- to B B- to B C+ to B- C+ to B- C to C+
Drops: A to A- A- to B+ B+ to B B to B- B to B- B to C+ B to C+ B- to C+ B- to C+ C- to D
Reasoning:
- :mator: - God lost the one thing keeping it out of S, so it went right back to S. Specs is manageable enough to keep it off the chopping block and Fat God is in a very, very good place right now. - Zydog rose due to the new SpDef Coil set, which is surprisingly fat and able to switch into a lot of stuff like Fat God, any electric, and certain Lunatone sets with little fear and start setting up. It's so weak it's kind of sad, but the amount of sustainability it manages to have and the ability to set up makes it very worth it. It's very easily able to clean up teams and has made Ice coverage way more common almost overnight. - Passimian is clearly ahead of Sawk due to access to U-Turn for momentum right now and probably the best scarfer in the tier, doing basically the same thing as before, but without a fairy on every team it's capable of making a lot more progress. - Pom-Pom rose since it no longer lets Drampa in for free, which was the main reason it dropped. It's also able to threaten out both Skarm and Mola easily, which is rare, and its Scarf and Defog sets give it some good versatility. - Bruxish's CB Psychic Fangs 2HKOs most of the tier, barring Skarm and the collection of Dark types. It's a little ridiculous, and while clicking anything not named Psychic Fangs is fairly easy to deal with, Psyfangs is absurd enough to boost it to A. - Audino can sort of compete with Mola due to access to Heal Bell while still having a similar combination of traits that makes Mola so ridiculous. It's a good alternative if you need Wish + heal Bell in one slot or just want to use something that would pair better with Audino, hence its introduction to the A ranks. - Geisha is back, and its mono-attack sets are as good as before with Z-Revdance being a 180 BP normal move for some reason. Now that Drampa doesn't infinitely wall it, it has a lot more openings, and is downright terrifying if it gets in. - Surprise, all of Lunatone's sets are really good in OU, too! It can do more or less whatever it wants in the tier, between checking specs god and generally being fat and strong with reliable recovery, setting rocks, hitting obscenely hard with specs, or multiple forms of setup. It's super versatile and easy to slot on a team while also almost always pulling its weight, hence the massive jump. - Turtonator has seen a rise with its AV set, which, with wish support, is one of the best Specs God switchins available while still hitting hard enough to force switches on its own. - with the return of electric types to the meta and the rise of Lunatone, Stunfisk can slot in on more than just full stall as a hard stop to the electrics and a solid check to Lunatone. - Carnivine's Defog set is pretty solid right now, posessing a very appealing combination of traits (defog + bulk + reliable recovery + some good resistances + knock off + some customizability) and being the best zydog switchin the tier has. The only thing keeping it from really going higher is that it's fairly passive, but not so much that it's a huge fault. - Komala rose since it's realistically the only viable spinner in the tier, giving it a niche on spikestack teams that don't want to defog away their own spikes. This is actually a lot of teams right now, with Skarm getting a huge uptick, and so it finds that niche being pretty solid now. - Miltank is a decent emergency specs god switchin with solid utility and reliable recovery, and now that Drampa isn't in the tier that niche is actually usable for it, hence the slight rise. - Kangaskhan isn't as good or as common as the rest of the stuff in A and a drop to A- was more suitable. - With Drampa gone, Carbink's niche is back to just being a TR lead, with TR still being terrifying enough to land it in B+ instead of dropping further. - Minior hates the uptick in Skarm and scarf electrics, since it can't realistically break Skarm, and provided you play around Shields Down (which isn't hard), most any scarfer in the tier threatens it out super easily, making it much more difficult to use. - Tauros, while it has a niche as the fastest normal while also fire blasting Skarm, is a little too situational to stay in B, and was deemed to be more on the level of B- for now. - Heatmor is outclassed as an alternative fire type by Turtonator, which can switch into specs God far better and that blows Heatmor's meager defensive utility out of the water. - Baile is still decent, but it's almost impossible to build with due to the huge SR weakness and the presence of fire types and its other forms means realistically you're never going to add it to a team. - Relicanth is suffering from a lot of problems right now, notably the rise of Bruxish and Lunatone outclassing it as an offensive water and rock respectively, the lack of power behind anything not named Head Smash, its lack of any versatility, and Head Smash's low PP and shaky accuracy. It's essentially disappeared and probably won't recover anytime soon. - Basculin is also outclassed by bruxish, since it breaking God and Mola is way more relevant than Basculin breaking God. there's also zero reason to use a special water right now. - Solrock also suffers from the rise of Lunatone, as Fat Lunatone is a better god switchin than it and offensive variants are a lot harder to use due to relying on prediction way more. - Mawile lost any niche it had with Drampa going, and between all the new special attackers, God being back, Zydog and Skarm going up in usage, and more, there's no reason for it to ever see the light of day.

Qwilfish from A to A+
This mon is really damn good in this meta. Hazard stacking is becoming a more prevalent playstyle due to the prominence of fatter cores involving WishPassers like Alomomola and Togedemaru, and Qwilfish is one of the best mons at abusing this as it has access to both Spikes and Toxic Spikes to support it's team with. TSpikes is notably nice as there's few absorbers of the move in this meta and it can be used to chip down walls like Mola very effectively. Qwilfish is also a very good stallbreaker with Taunt disrupting attempts to heal or Defog away it's hazards. Along with all of this Qwilfish is still a very nice Fighting check and one of the few good defensive Durant checks, although the release of Defiant Passimian does put a damper onto that role. Overall the increased splashability of Qwilfish and the types of teams it fits on being better makes it worthy of a rise right now. Oricorio-Sensu (Geisha Bird) from A- to AThis fatter meta with an emphasis on hazard stacking is also a massive benefit to Geisha Bird, as it has no issues setting up and wallbreaking the walls of the Shitmons meta along with being a good spinblocker to keep it's team's hazards up. A set that has seen increased usage is a bulky Taunt stallbreaking set that can be incredibly difficult for slower teams to deal with as Geisha can just Taunt their fat mons (it also beats Qwilfish handily) and chip them down with Toxic and Revelation Dance. It's speed tier is also pretty clutch as it outspeeds non-Scarf Rotom which is pretty great for Calm Mind sets. Not much else to say, Geisha is just a mon that's a lot better in this meta with it's newly innovated sets. Sawk from A- to B+This nomination's a bit different from the others as Sawk hasn't really gotten any better or worse because of the meta. Instead, I'm nomming it to drop a rank just based on how good Passimian is right now and how Passimian is mostly better than Sawk on most teams. While Sawk has the niche of either Sturdy or Mold Breaker as well as a slightly better Attack stat than Passimian, Passimian's access to U-turn gives it much more utility for it's team as it's able to pivot around along with having the strength it has. Defiant also gave it more of a niche than Sawk because it doesn't get walled by Qwilfish as hard anymore and can deter Defog users. Sawk should only go as low as B+ though in my opinion as it can still put in massive work, it's just a little outclassed by Passimian. I could probably suggest some more rises but those are the ones I feel strongly about at the moment and Drap will have a lot of noms in his post as well that I might support.
